Suzdal — Vladimir tour by car
Suzdal is the most celebrated and popular of these ancient towns. The town dates back to the 11th century and a large part of historical architecture are excellently well-preserved in Suzdal to this day. While in Suzdal, visit the scenic ramparts of Suzdal’s Kremlin and check out the blue-and-golden onion domes of the Nativity of the Virgin Cathedral. Other attractions in Suzdal include the 19th century Trading Arcades, the 16thcentury Monastery of the Deposition, the white Alexandrovsky Convent by the river and a wide range of other historical buildings.
Vladimir was the heartland of Russia before Moscow succeeded it. The town is home to some of the most extraordinary and beautiful buildings in Russia. Most notably, Vladimir is known for being the burial place of the Russian national hero. Check out the beautiful stone carvings of the 12th century Cathedral of St. Dmitry and don’t miss the famous and stunning Golden Gates.
